Conditions
For Non- Commerical driving licence, the applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
For Commerical driving licence, the applicant must be 20 years of age or older.
For Commerical driving licence, the applicant must be 20 years of age or older.
Must be Iraqi national or registered resident of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Must be physically and mentally fit.
Must be resident of the Governorate in which the driving license application is requested.
Must not have been charged with a driving ban.
Must pass theoretical test.
Must pass driving practical test.

All documents must be original and photocopies must be colour copies.
Time
The application process requires 3 months to complete.
Price
Reference to the Council of Ministries decree no. 79 of 3/2/2016, the cost of issuing a driving licence is 42,000 Iraqi Dinars.
Procedures
The requestor visits the department of Driving License issuance at one of the Directorates of Traffic Police.
The requestor visits the bureau of obtaining application form in order to fill out the application.
Visit Medical Committee to perform medical examination (external entity)
After obtaining the results of medical examination, the requestor visits the licensing officer for scheduling appointment to perform theoretical test if the requestor is literate. If the requestor is not literate, taking part in a five (5) days driving training provided by registered driving training bureaus and obtain training completion certificate.
After completing the theoretical test successfully, the requestor visits the Licensing Registration Officer for scheduling an appointment for practical Figure Eight (8) test.
After completing the practical Figure Eight (8) test successfully, the requestor returns to the Licensing Registration Officer for scheduling an appointment for the practical (L) shaped test, know as the Rampa test.
After completing the practical (L) shaped test, know as the Rampa test successfully, the requestor visits the Licensing Registration Officer one more time for auditing and approving the test results.
After the approval of the test results, the requestor visits the accounting department to pay the assigned fees.
The final step is visiting the collection office to submit the requestor's dossier, perform final audit and issue the driving license for the requestor.
