Broad Power of Attorney (PoA) for the Kurdish Diaspora

Broad power of attorney (BPoA) is a legal authorization that gives a designated person, termed the agent or attorney-in-fact, broad power to act for another person, known as the principal in all legal transactions in the Kurdistan Region.

Conditions

The principle must be present in person.

Iraqi National ID or (Renewed Iraqi Civil Status Card with Iraqi Nationality Certificate) - Original Copies
of the attorney-in-fact.

Taking the original PoA to the DFR to be authenticated by the Legal Affairs.

Iraqi National ID or (Renewed Iraqi Civil Status Card with Iraqi Nationality Certificate) - Original Copies
of the principal.

Iraqi National ID or (Renewed Iraqi Civil Status Card with Iraqi Nationality Certificate) - Original Copies
of the to be attorney-in-fact.

Passport if the attorney-in-fact is not an Iraqi National.

Documents relevant to the PoA, such as documents related to property registration, vehicle registration or any other documents.

The requirements might vary slightly depending on the KRG representation office that processes the PoA. At some representations, the following steps are required:

Providing a copy of the Iraqi or American IDs, for example (National Certificate)

Three copies of the Kurdish language application form. The writings must be clear and visible.

A copy of the English language application form signed by the Notary Public.

3 personal photos of each of the principal and the attorney-in-fact.

Contact information of the principal and attorney-in-fact.

Procedures

If the requestor, visits one of the KRG's Representations, there are only two steps required for obtaining the service. First to visit the office of the consular services and Kurdish diaspora and wait in the waiting area until the transaction is approved by the head of the representation.

If the requestor mails the application, if all documents are provided, the transaction requires on only one step to complete.
